Abu Garcia Ambassadeur Reels – First Hand Information

Abu Garcia has made quality reels for many years now. I never used them much as a kid but I recently used them exclusively while on my last fishing trip. Until I got first hand information on the Abu Garcia Ambassadeur reels, I really did not know how good they were.

I was on a cat fishing trip up in the Red River in Canada. The river is know for having huge channel catfish which weigh over 30 pounds. It takes a tough reel to handle this and that is where I saw the how strong it really was. This is where I got first hand information on the Abu Garcia Ambassadeur reels, since I quickly hooked onto a monster fish my first day there.

We were drifting in the river when it felt like I hooked into a car on the bottom. However, the car was really a huge catfish. The fish was taking lots of line off the reel, but it came off smooth and the Abu Garcia was holding its own against the fish. I kept pumping the fish and trying to bring him closer, but he just kept taking more line and moving further away.

We finally had to start up the motor and get closer to the fish. The drag on the reel was still smooth and I was able to really gain some ground on him now. I saw the catfish get closer to the boat but my arm was really getting tired. The Abu Garcia had to do much of the work now as I could barely lift my arm up. It has been about 20 minutes that the fish was on and I was just hoping for it to be over soon. The guide grabbed the net as the fish was in site.

Soon after the net was grabbed the fish might of saw it and took about 20 yards of line off of my fishing reel. It was really hard for me to stay focused and I thought for sure I was going to lose the fish. This was the biggest fish of my life and I did not want to see it get off.

I kept cranking my Abu Garcia reel and eventually the fish was in sight again. This time I kept the pressure on and hoped the line would hold. The powerful gears on the reel allowed me to get the fish inch by inch closer to the boat. Finally, the fish was netted by the guide and I yelled with joy. The fish weighed in at 32 pounds and we quickly released him after a few pictures. I want to be able to catch him next year when he is even bigger.

Overall, it took first hand information on the Abu Garcia Reels for me to understand how good they were. I wish I would have found out sooner as they withstood my entire fishing trip without a problem. I was more than satisfied with the reels.

Abu Garcia reels have always gotten good reviews, they are great reels. Abu Garcia has two reels that are the most popular at this time, and some would say that they are the best Abu Garcia Spinning Reels to date. The Ambassadeur C4 Classic Round baitcast is definitely used amongst fishermen very frequently. This reel is a classic indeed, this pole has a smoother reel bottom closer to the rod for luxury and leverage. The Ambassadeur looks beautiful. Like the other reels in it's line, the C4 is a powerhouse reel. The C4 climbed to the top of the sales charts as soon as it hit stores. Fishermen around the world swear by the Classic Abu Garcia reel, they say that it is the best for catching catfish.

Although the C4 is popular, the Abu Garcia REVO Premier Casting Reel is the number one seller amongst the line of reels. Everybody was wondering, how Abu Garcia would make a positive change to their Revo series. This reel says everything about Abu Garcia's advancement in fishing equipment. The Premier Reel is a whopping 28% lighter than the leading STX reel. The Premier is the absolute lightest reel on the market, weighing in at 6.35oz. The Premier takes advantage of the cunning HPCR bearings, making it corrosion proof. The Premier is smooth and very durable. There is a retaining screw on the bottom of the grip, the outer part will slice your finger if you do not cover it with tape. This is the only possible downside to this reel. There are a couple Abu Garcia reels that have gotten bad reviews, but if you do your home work on the reel you are dealing with, you will not be lead astray. If you take an even closer look at Abu Garcia reels, you will see that they are all built with the finest of materials and they are all worth the price that they are priced at. What I mean by this is, a lot of companies charge an arm and a leg for their products and even the scraps invested in the product are not worth that value.
